The frame and board I found on a second hand market in Nelson last year.
I first painted the board and frame with a white undercoat and next used crackle medium before painting the frame with blue.
On the board I let colours run into each other by thinning the paint down with water to create a muted effect.
The pattern on the dress is created by stencilling through a paper doily and then shaded with a darker purple.
I have glued lace onto the dress and made a coat hanger hook from gold beading wire.
The painting looks nice in my studio, that is part a sewing and part an art studio.
